Collection: Ice - Crackle Collection 冰之痕

Ice crackle refers to the natural network of tiny cracks that form on the surface of Jianzhan during the firing process.

These cracks resemble the appearance of cracked ice. The pattern is not manually created but occurs naturally due to differences in the cooling rates between the glaze layer and the clay body during firing, leading to a natural crackle on the surface. The characteristics of the ice crackle pattern are:

  1. Naturally formed: The crackle pattern is a random design created by nature, making each piece unique.
  2. Aesthetic appeal: The interwoven cracks have a distinctive beauty, resembling fractures on the surface of ice, hence the name "ice crackle."
  3. Unique texture: The crackle pattern gives the surface a slightly uneven feel, differing from the smooth texture of typical glazes.
